Programmatic KYC/KYB via API (avoiding "double KYCs")

Question:

Is it possible to perform KYC/KYB fully programmatically via API, without additional client interaction, to avoid "double KYCs"?

Example: we've already onboarded Client A and hold their information. Client A requests the USD rail on Avenia, so we need to KYC/KYB the client with you. Assuming our KYC/KYB already covers the information required by the provider, can KYC/KYB be initiated and completed programmatically using the data we already hold?

Potential integration blockers we want to understand:

  • Liveness checks

  • Customer Terms of Service acceptance

  • Any other user-interactive steps required by the provider

Answer:

KYB is SumSub-driven and can be initiated programmatically via API using the data and documents you already hold. Since Avenia also runs SumSub, applicant/token sharing (reusing your verified applicants to eliminate the double KYB) is on our near-term roadmap and something we would prioritize for this integration.

Interactive steps that remain today: end-customer acceptance of the licensed provider's T&Cs (embeddable in your flow).

Typical decisioning: ~5 minutes for low-risk corporates, up to 2 days for complex profiles — with patterned, transparent RFIs rather than open-ended ones.
