The off-chain verification process on Polygon ID involves the following steps:

  1. A web application designs an authentication request for users who want to access the website and delivers it to the user via a QR code or deep-linking.
  2. The user scans the QR code using their mobile ID wallet and parses the request.
  3. The user generates a ZK proof on mobile based on the request from the website, using the credentials stored in their wallet.
  4. The user sends the proof to the callback server.
  5. The server verifies the ZK proof and, if it is verified, grants the user access to the platform or activates any customized logic.
