How would we be able to move our newly minted token from the eth to the polygon bridge?

To proceed, you need to submit a mapping request for your token on Polygon PoS. The following documentation provides detailed instructions on how to map your assets: Submit a Mapping Request.

Polygon offers a trustless two-way transaction channel between Polygon PoS and Ethereum through the cross-chain bridge. This official bridge allows you to transfer tokens between Ethereum and Polygon PoS without third-party risks and market liquidity limitations.

You can access and bridge assets from Ethereum to Polygon PoS using the Polygon Portal.

There is no change to the circulating supply of your token when it crosses the bridge. The process is as follows:

  • Depositing Tokens: Tokens that leave the Ethereum network are locked, and an equal number of tokens are minted on Polygon PoS as pegged tokens (1:1).
  • Withdrawing Tokens: Tokens are burned on Polygon PoS and unlocked on Ethereum during the withdrawal process.

This ensures a seamless and secure transfer of assets between Ethereum and Polygon PoS.
